Day 1, Thursday, July 22 -
This morning we begin a vacation that will bring us across Wisconsin
through the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and into southern Ontario.
After leaving Ottawa, Ontario, our travels will take us
through Montreal to Quebec City, Quebec. Our coach then takes
us along the St. Lawrence Seaway to New Brunswick, the
largest of the Maritime Provinces. Leaving New Brunswick we travel
over the new Confederation Bridge to Prince Edward Island. We
ferry to Nova Scotia to tour Cape Breton Island
and the peninsula of Nova Scotia. Then travel back to the
United States by sailing across the Bay of Fundy on the
Princess Acadia and making our way through the eastern States
back to Minnesota. Our first night on the road will be in Marquette,
Michigan.
Day 2, Friday, July 23 -
After spending the night on Michigan’s Upper Peninsula we travel to
Sault Ste, Marie Michigan for lunch. Crossing the bridge over the
Sault Locks we arrive to Ontario, Canada. After going
through customs at the border, a stop will be made to exchange money
before continuing to North Bay, Ontario. (L)
Day 3, Saturday, July 24 -
By noon we arrive in Canada’s beautiful capital city Ottawa,
Ontario. There will be free time to eat and enjoy the Byward
Market, before meeting a guide for a tour of the capital city.
This evening our hotel is downtown Ottawa close to area attractions.

Day 4, Sunday, July 25 -
You will experience French culture in Quebec City, Quebec. A
local guide joins us to show us this space-age city built around the
Old City, which is protected by a huge stone wall. After our tour
you will have free time to explore the narrow cobblestone streets
and old buildings that have been restored to boutiques. (B) (L)
Day 5, Monday, July 26 -
New Brunswick is the largest of the Maritime Provinces. The
first attraction is a visit to Grand Falls, the largest
cataract east of Niagara Falls. Later a picture stop will be made at
Hartland Bridge, the longest covered bridge in the world.
Following the St. John River we arrive to our accommodations in
Fredericton, the capital city of the Province. (B)
Day 6 Tuesday, July 27 -
The high tides of the Bay of Fundy cause many strange phenomenon.
One of these strange sights is the Reversing Falls in Saint
Johns, NB. This is where the tide flows into the Saint John’s
River and causes the rapids and the falls to flow backwards. Another
strange sight is Magnetic Hill at Moncton, NB, where cars and
motor coaches roll up hill. After visiting these attractions you may
walk on the ocean floor at Hopewell Rocks, but only if the
tide is out. This afternoon we cross the new Confederation Bridge
to Prince Edward Island. Our motel for two nights is in the
only city on the Island, Charlottetown. (B)
Day 7, Wednesday, July 28 -
A local guide joins us for a tour of the Island and Charlottetown.
We’ll visit Green Gables the home of Anne then, ride out to
Brackly and Cavendish Beaches to see the red rocky
shoreline. This evening a dinner of lobster and mussels are included
at New Glasgow. (B, D)
Day 8, Thursday, July 29 -
Mid-morning a short ferry ride takes us across the Northumberland
Strait to Nova Scotia. Our coach heads toward Cape
Breton Island arriving at the resort city of Baddeck for
a two-night stay. Our visit begins at the Alexander Graham Bell
Museum to examine his inventions. This evening dinner is
included at the motel restaurant. (B, D)
Day 9, Friday, July 30 - A
step-on guide will join us this morning to tell us stories about the
French Acadians while we drive the beautiful Cabot Trail.
Stops will be made at scenic overlooks and special gift shops. Noon
meal is included in Pleasant Bay and we return to Baddeck late this
afternoon. This evening we dine at our motel restaurant overlooking
Bras d’ Or Lake. (B, L) (D)
Day 10, Saturday, July 31 -
Leaving Cape Breton Island and driving to the Nova
Scotia Peninsula, we continue south to Halifax, the largest city in
Nova Scotia. Standing high above the downtown area is the Halifax
Citadel which was built in the mid - 1800’s to protect the
harbor. After an inside look at this fortification, the remainder of
the afternoon is enjoyed at the Maritime Museum. This
museum has one of the largest collections of wooden artifacts from
the Titanic. Tonight we check into our downtown accommodations for a
2-night stay. (B, L)
Day 11, Sunday, August 1 –
Leaving Halifax we drive along the scenic coastline to Peggy’s
Cove. Peggy’s Cove is a pretty little town known as an artist’s
haven. We have noon luncheon there with time to visit the restored
warehouses that have been converted into shops and museums.
Returning to Halifax and to the waterfront, we board a sightseeing
boat for a two hour historic harbor cruise of the Halifax Harbor.

Day 12, Monday, August 2 -
Leaving Halifax we travel to the “land of Evangeline.”
Grande Pre National Historical Park was the home of the
French Acadians who were deported by the English. As a result they
left for Louisiana where they made their homes. Continuing along the
Evangeline Trail we drive Port Royal to learn about the early
history of Nova Scotia from costumed guides. It is a short ride to
Digby where you board the Princess of Acadia for a cruise
across the Bay of Fundy. This evening we stay in St. John,
NB. (B)
Day 13, Tuesday, August 3 –
After breakfast at the hotel, we turn toward the border and go
through customs. Don’t forget your passport! Noon lunch is included
at the Sea Dog Brewing Company in Bangor, Maine. Arriving to
Portland mid-afternoon, there is time to walk around Seaport
Village before checking into our hotel. (B) (L)
Day 14, Wednesday, August 4 -
Our coach travels the country roads through southern New Hampshire,
Vermont and the beautiful Appalachian Mountains. Tonight our
hotel is in Syracuse, New York. (B)
Day 15, Thursday, August 5 -
Traveling through upper New York you will see that the state is
much more than skyscrapers and huge cities. Our noon meal is
included in Niagara Falls, Ontario, at the Skylon Tower, a
revolving restaurant overlooking the famous falls. After lunch there
is time to visit both the falls and shops. Tonight we stay in
London, Ontario. (B) (L)
Day 16, Friday, August 6 -
Leaving Canada our route takes us through Windsor and into
Detroit, Michigan. We have an included noon meal at Jackson then
continue on to Chicago, Illinois for the last evening of our tour.

Day 17, Saturday, August 7 –
We’re homeward bound with fantastic memories and new friends. Lunch
will be included at the Norske Nooke. The usual rest stops will be
made throughout the day and we return to Rustad’s Bus Garage early
