Day 1, Sunday, September 26 - Leaving Rustad’s Bus Garage we travel to the Northeast to visit the six New England States. An attraction is included in each of these states as well as New York, which is not a New England State. On the way, we take time to view the majestic Niagara Falls. The whole tour should be a blaze of fall colors. The noon meal is included at Black River Falls and this evening our accommodations are in a south Chicago suburb. (L)

Day 2, Monday, September 27 - This morning we continue around the southern tip of Lake Michigan into Indiana and to the state of Michigan. Early in the afternoon we step into America’s past at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. You are sure to discover an article or two that will rekindle fond memories. Later our coach will take us across the International Bridge into Ontario, Canada. This evening we are staying in London, Ontario. (B)

Day 3, Tuesday, September 28 - Niagara Falls is one of the world’s most famous natural wonders. We have time for noon lunch before a local guide joins us for a fun filled afternoon tour of Niagara Falls. After enjoying the floral clock, falls, and other highlights, we unpack our bags and the evening is free to enjoy the city. (B)

Day 4, Wednesday, September 29 - Today we return to the United States and travel to Alexander Bay, New York, located on the St. Lawrence Seaway. We board the Uncle Sam Sightseeing boat for a narrated tour of the 1,000 Islands. Before returning to the mainland we get off at Heart Island and tour Boldt Castle. Late afternoon we return to the mainland and travel to our hotel in Watertown, NY. (B)

Day 5, Thursday, September 30 - This morning our tour takes us through beautiful upstate New York. Enjoying the colorful trees, we travel through the Adirondack Mountains, past the lakes and through the small towns. In Lake Placid, there is time to walk through the Olympic Skating site or peek in a shop, before crossing Lake Champlain on a ferry. Then we continue onto Stowe, Vermont, the ski capital of the East, located in the scenic Green Mountains. The original movie “White Christmas” was filmed here. Stowe is also the home of the Von Trapp Family. An evening meal will be included at our motel. (B) (D)

Day 6, Friday October 1 - After an included breakfast, the refreshing country scenery rushes past our coach windows as we drive the two-lane roads through the small towns of Vermont. In St. Johnsbury we visit the Maple Grove Maple Museum & Factory. After learning the process of changing maple sap into maple syrup, we drive through the White Mountains of New Hampshire to Fabyan. Our group boards the Scenic Conway Railroad for a tour through the beautiful colorful Mountains, over rivers, and past waterfalls to Conway. Our coach meets us there and by early evening we arrive in Portland, Maine and to our evening accommodations. (B) (L)

Day 7, Saturday, October 2 - Our day in Portland will start with a city tour. A knowledgeable guide boards our coach to tell us the secrets of the city and rattle a few bones in the closets of Portland’s past. After an included noon lunch of Maine lobster there’s time to wander around the 19th century Seaport District. Early afternoon our travels take us south to Boston, Massachusetts! Our hotel is located in a suburb south of downtown. Upon arrival our bags are delivered to our rooms and we can unpack for a relaxing three-night stay. (L)

Day 8, Sunday, October 3 - Boston was founded in 1630 by Puritans. Over a period of 380 years, the city has seen, heard, and observed some of our Nation’s most famous history. A local guide will join us for an interesting tour, revealing years of history which go back to the early days of our nation’s founding. This includes Paul Reveres famous midnight ride to the present day high technology surroundings. We view the USS Constitution, drive the streets of Harvard University, and see where “the shot heard ‘round the world” sparked the American Revolution. After free time at Quincy Market we return to the hotel. (B) (L)

Day 9, Monday, October 4 - After slipping through traffic and traveling south to Plymouth, MA we learn how the Pilgrims lived in the 17th century by visiting the Plimouth Plantation. Later our group will board a boat and cruise the Atlantic Ocean on a 4-hour whale watch. Noon lunch will be included on board. There’s time to board the Mayflower 2 before returning to our hotel late afternoon. (B) (L)

Day 10, Tuesday, October 5 - This morning we arrive in Newport, Rhode Island where a guide will greet us and help us discover “America’s first resort.” Newport is well-known for its magnificent estates and we will visit one of the most splendid, The Breakers! Although it was “just” the summer home for Cornelius Vanderbilt, it is more than any of us will ever live in. Late afternoon we leave Rhode Island and travel to our motel in Mystic, Connecticut. (B) (L)

Day 11, Wednesday, October 6 - We have visited major attractions throughout five of the six New England States. A visit to the 17-acre Mystic Seaport Museum will complete our New England Tour. Over 100 ships and boats are on display along with many other relics that trace the history of ships, building and maritime activities. This afternoon we say good-bye to the six New England States and travel to our accommodations in Lake Ariel, PA. (L)

Day 12, Thursday, October 7 - This morning we skirt the southern edge of the Catskill Mountains. Their gorgeous colors should be breath-taking. Arriving at the Corning Glass Center in Corning, NY, you can view the past, present, and future of glass. Then watch as skilled craftsmen blow hot glass to fashion vases, pitchers, and bowls. There is time for shopping too! Our destination tonight is Erie, PA. (B)

Day 13, Friday, October 8 - Crossing the northwestern tip of Pennsylvania the colors will again be very beautiful. We enter the state of Ohio where a noon lunch is included in Toledo. Traveling through Indiana we notice the colors are changing in this area too. Tonight we stay in a Chicago, IL suburb. (B) (L)

Day 14, Saturday, October 9 - The green state of Wisconsin that we left behind just thirteen days ago may be at peak color by now. A stop will be made to pick up some Wisconsin cheese before stopping in Osseo, Wisconsin for noon lunch. This afternoon we stop in the Twin Cities area and arrive back in Kerkhoven by early evening.
