Day 1, Tuesday, September
28 – After leaving Kerkhoven we travel toward North Dakota
to the Norske Hostfest to celebrate our Scandinavian Heritage
at a fun filled festival. Noon meal will be included in Grand Forks.
Late afternoon we check into the Comfort Inn in Minot for a three
night stay. This evening we attend the Allan Jackson show on
the main stage at the Norsk Hostfest. (L)
Day 2, Wednesday, September
29 – After an included breakfast at the hotel we return for
a full day of fun and music. There is never a dull moment! You’ll
enjoy many entertainers, displays and food. Rustad Tours have
general admission tickets for everyone. It’s a day to enjoy shows in
theaters around the grounds. There’ll be exhibits, demonstrations on
Bunads, lefse making, and many souvenirs and books to be checked out
Late this evening, we return to the Comfort Inn with our
Scandinavian souvenirs. (B)
Day 3, Thursday, September 30
– Our last full day in Minot will begin with a visit to their
Scandinavian Heritage Village then return to the Minot
Hostfest. Rustad Tours will have reserved seats for the Vince
Gill show in the main theater. After the show we’ll
return to the bus and leave for Bismarck, ND and to our hotel.
Tonight a dinner is included at the Radisson. (B) (D)
Day 4, Friday, October 1
– On our way back to Kerkhoven we stop at the Hjemkomst Heritage
Center in Moorhead. You’ll see the Viking ship that was built
and sailed to Norway, the Stave Church, and exhibits. Everyone will
be talking about the outstanding entertainment they saw on our
Hostfest tour, all the different foods and the unique gifts they
bought. Early evening we arrive back to Kerkhoven. (B) (L)
Note: Beside the mainliners performing at the main theater other
stars are the Oak Ridge Boys, Adbacadabra-the Ultin, Williams & Ree,
The Peking Acrobats, Bjoro Haaland, Kentucky Riders, Kathy Bender,
The Western Senators. That is just to name a few, the entertainment
is non-stop.
