Day 1, Saturday, August 7 - Folklorama in
Winnipeg, Manitoba is a HUGE ethnic festival that is celebrating 41
years this summer. After traveling to Winnipeg we check into our
downtown all-suite property for a 3-night stay. Our first night will
include 3 of our first nine pavilions. Our first pavilion will
include an appetizer; the second pavilion our evening meal; our
third pavilion is our dessert. At each pavilion we are treated to
good seats for their entertainment and given a personalized tour of
their display. (L) (D)
Day 2, Sunday, August 8 – Sunday morning is a great time
for sightseeing throughout Winnipeg. A local guide will join us for
a 3 hour tour of Winnipeg. Our noon meal is included on the
Paddlewheel River boat. The afternoon is spent on a
relaxing cruise of the Red River that winds through the City of
Winnipeg. Early evening we leave our hotel to visit 3 more
pavilions. Each pavilion will treat us as VIP’s and late tonight
we return to our hotel in Winnipeg. (L) (D)
Day 3, Monday, August 9 - This morning we travel to the
outskirts of Winnipeg to the Royal Canadian Mint. This
high-tech, high-volume manufacturing facility is considered one of
the world’s most modern mints. These high speed presses can strike
up to 750 coins a minute. Not only do they produce coins for Canada
but also for 60 other countries. Noon meal is included at the very
nice restaurant, the Oui Bistro & Wine Bar in downtown
Winnipeg. After lunch we will visit Winnipeg’s largest museum,
The Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature. The Galleries at the
Museum tells the story of Manitoba from the Arctic Coast to the
Prairie grasslands. You may climb aboard a 17th century
ship and stroll through the 1920’s streets of Winnipeg. This
evening we visit three more pavilions. The first pavilion will serve
us an appetizer while enjoying their show, evening meal with
entertainment is at our second pavilion and dessert is saved for our
last pavilion. Late evening we return to our luxury suites for our
last night in Canada. (L) (D)
Day 4, Tuesday, August 10 - Winnipeg is known as a very
friendly city and we have just visited 9 different pavilions and
their cultures, The Royal Canadian Mint, the Manitoba Museum of Man
