Day 1, Thursday, July 29 – A deluxe motor coach will take you to Minneapolis for a direct flight to Anchorage, Alaska. Upon arrival a Rustad driver and coach will meet you at the airport to bring you to your motel in downtown Anchorage. After a short orientation of the area, the evening is free to relax.

Day 2, Friday, July 30 – A morning Tour of Anchorage will introduce you to Alaska’s largest city. Then you’ll get a glimpse of this Great Land while riding to Denali National Park. This evening at Alaska Cabin Nite you’ll get a taste of Old Alaska. Seated in an authentic log paneled road house performers portray unforgettable characters to tell the story of Alaska through music, story telling and humor. Dinner is served family style. (B) (D)

Day 3, Saturday, July 31 – Very early this morning we transfer from our coach onto a school bus-like-coach for a 6 to 7 hour Wildlife Tour of Denali Park. Maybe we’ll have a grand sweep and see all the species of animals in the park. If we’re lucky we may see Mt. McKinley. A snack box is served on the bus and a hot drink at turn-around. Early evening we check into our motel in Fairbanks for a 2 night stay. (L)

Day 4, Sunday, August 1 – This morning a local guide will show us Fairbanks. After our noon meal we enjoy a 4-hour tour on The Riverboat Discovery. Tonight there will be salmon, halibut, and steak at the Alaska Salmon Bake. After our evening meal we enjoy a comedy show on the history of Fairbanks. (B) (D)

Day 5, Monday, August 2 – After loading our coach we leave Fairbanks to see more of the Interior of Alaska. You may drop your Christmas list at the Santa Claus House in North Pole. Remember to bring plenty of film! There’s time for picture stops of the Pipeline where it crosses the Tanana River, and also the historic end of the Alaska Highway in Delta Junction. Mid-afternoon we visit the Wrangell – St. Elias National Park, our countries largest National Park. A short walk takes you to a view point where the tallest mountains may be visible. Later we ride through Thompson Pass, and Keystone Canyon, past Worthington Glacier to Valdez. This is sometimes called Switzerland of America. We unpack our bags for a two night stay. (B) (L)

Day 6, Tuesday, August 3 – The beauty of Alaska opens up before you on a full day boat tour of Prince William Sound. Sights include sea otters, seals, eagles, glaciers and possible sightings of whale and porpoise. Noon meal is included on the boat and early evening we return to Valdez for a free evening. (B) (L)

Day 7, Wednesday, August 4 – Our last day of sightseeing in Alaska will begin by taking the Alaska State Ferry to Whittier. After arriving in Whittier we visit to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center where orphaned and injured animals are cared for before being released back into the wild. Then we return to Anchorage by way of Turnagain arm and repack for tomorrow’s flight home. (B)

Day 8, Thursday, August 5 – Depart Anchorage for a direct flight to Minnesota where a Rustad Bus will meet you for the return trip to Kerkhoven! (B)
